8. What it’s like to work in the wedding industry with wedding cake maker Vaani Wadman of Sugar Plum Bakes

It’s a pleasure to be joined this week by Vaani, founder of Sugar Plum Bakes to share her insight and experience of working in the wedding industry.

Vaani is a true artist, creating unforgettable bespoke wedding cakes inspired by nature, made with love and care.

Vaani kindly shares how she made a career shift from chemical engineering to making cakes, saying yes to all work and requests to then niching down to wedding cakes finding a real passion for the buzz of being a part of a wedding day. 

As a member of The Wedding Business Club Vaani has done a great deal of work to know and understand her ideal client, so we chat about how key that has been in building the success of her business. By knowing who she wants to serve, Vaani has been able to reach out to those ideal clients and talk to them through their shared interests and an appreciation for the same things. 

Through listening and trusting her intuition Vaani has grown her business, built strong industry relationships and has a clear vision for the work she loves to create.
